Plans, Changes, Cancellations and Withdrawals
What subscription plans are available?
Four base plans are available: (1) Free Plan, (2) Light Plan, (3) Standard Plan, and (4) Premium Plan. An add-on plan that allows access to minute bar and tick data is also available. To subscribe to the add-on plan, you must be on a paid plan (Light Plan or higher). Please refer to the plan chart for details.
Can't I get the today's stock price with the free plan?
I'm afraid not. With the free plan, data is delivered with a 12-week delay.
What is the expiration date of the free plan?
Free plan is available for one year only. Your free plan will be automatically cancelled after one year.
You can subscribe again after the plan cancelled.
What is the difference between user registration and subscription plans?
Registration with J-Quants will allow you to obtain sample data, but you must select a plan to obtain daily data.
Can I subscribe to the add-on plan only?
No. To use the add-on plan, you must be subscribed to the Light Plan or higher. The add-on plan cannot be used on its own.
How do I make payment?
All are monthly plans, and the monthly fee is deducted from your credit card.
Payment is made through Stripe Japan.
Your credit card information is handled by Stripe Japan and is not viewed by us.
Can I change my plan?
You can change your plan at any time. For base plan changes, there is no limit on the number of upgrades to higher plans, but downgrades to lower plans are limited to once per month.
If you change your subscription plan within a paid plan, the fee will be calculated on a pro-rated basis.
If you change to a lower plan during the billing cycle period of your paid plan, your balance credit will be paid out for the remaining period. The balance credit can be applied to your next payment and thereafter.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Both free and paid subscriptions can be cancelled at any time.
Plans are cancelled at the end of the billing period and will remain available from the date you indicate cancellation until the end of the billing period.
Can I keep using the add-on plan after canceling the base plan?
The add-on plan requires an active paid base plan.
If the paid base plan cancellation takes effect, or if you change from the paid base plan to the Free plan, the add-on plan will be automatically canceled on its next renewal date.
You can continue using the add-on plan until its cancellation takes effect.
When can I cancel my membership?
You may cancel your membership at any time. When you cancel your membership, your personal information used by J-Quants API will be deleted. Please note that you will not be able to access any information, including paid invoices, after you cancel your membership. You can cancel your membership by clicking the "Proceed with account deletion" button at the bottom of the "Profile" screen after logging in.
Please note that when you cancel your membership, you will also lose the balance credits you hold.
What is the difference between membership cancellation and subscription plan cancellation?
If you cancel your subscription plan, you will no longer be able to use the free or paid plans, but your user information will remain in J-Quants API and you will still be able to log in to the J-Quants API site.
Membership cancellation will delete your user information from all J-Quants API services, and you will no longer be able to log in to the J-Quants API site.
I cancelled my plan subscription, but would like to cancel the cancellation and continue using the service.
After submitting a plan cancellation request, you can cancel the cancellation before the effective date of the cancellation. You can cancel your plan cancellation by selecting the "Undo cancellation" button in the Customer Portal. After cancellation, the plan will be renewed in the regular billing cycle.
How can I check the amount of my balance credit?
Credits incurred or used as a result of subscription plan changes can be viewed in the Applied Balance section of your receipt.
To check the availability of your credit balance for future plan changes, go to the Stripe screen and view the plan change details to see the available balance credit for your plan change.
