GET /v2/fins/summary

Overview

You can obtain quarterly earnings summaries and disclosure information (mainly numerical data) on revisions to earnings and dividend information for listed companies.
Either issue code (code) or date (date) must be specified.

Attention

About Accounting Standards
- Each item name output from the API is based on Japanese GAAP (JGAAP) disclosure items. Therefore, IFRS and U.S. GAAP (USGAAP) disclosure data do not have the concept of ordinary income, so the data is blank.
Relation to the disclosed documents (XBRL)
- Each item of this API is based on the values in the XBRL data submitted by listed companies, so it may differ from the PDF of the earnings report.
- Disclosures for which no XBRL data has been submitted (such as PDF-only disclosures) are not covered by this API.
Scale and units of the items
- Monetary items are recorded in yen, based on the values in the disclosed XBRL data, regardless of the display unit used in the earnings report (millions of yen, thousands of yen, etc.). (This includes disclosures by foreign companies.)
- We apply no unit conversion or additional rounding.
- For the accounting definitions and presentation basis of each item, please refer to the original earnings report.
Consolidated and non-consolidated items
- For companies that submit consolidated earnings reports, the items without the NC prefix (Sales, OP, TA, etc.) contain the consolidated values, and the items with the NC prefix contain the individual values.
- For companies that submit non-consolidated earnings reports, the items without the NC prefix contain the individual values, and the items with the NC prefix are empty strings.
- For revisions of earnings forecasts, following the XBRL definitions, the items without the NC prefix contain the consolidated values, and the items with the NC prefix contain the individual values.
Changes of fiscal year end
- This API has no item that directly indicates a change of fiscal year end. Please check the disclosures of the same issue in chronological order and identify such changes from changes in the fiscal year end date (CurFYEn).
Order of disclosure
- The disclosure number does not guarantee the order of disclosure. To determine the order, refer to the disclosed date and time (DiscDate and DiscTime).
Items not stated in a disclosure
- Each record contains only the values stated in the disclosed document; items not stated are recorded as empty strings. An empty string only indicates that no value was stated in the disclosure — it does not represent whether anything changed from the previous disclosure, or a state such as a withdrawn or undetermined forecast.
Format of earnings forecasts
- The earnings forecast items contain forecast values disclosed as a single figure. Forecast values disclosed in a range (band) format are not recorded.
Forecast items
- Items without the Nx prefix (FSales, FOP, FDivFY, etc.) are forecasts for the current fiscal year (CurFYSt to CurFYEn), and items with the Nx prefix (NxFSales, NxFOP, NxFDivFY, etc.) are forecasts for the next fiscal year (NxtFYSt to NxtFYEn).
- In full-year earnings reports (disclosures whose document type includes FYFinancialStatements), only the items with the Nx prefix are recorded as the forecast for the next fiscal year, and the items without the Nx prefix are empty strings.
- To compare the next-year forecast in a full-year earnings report (NxFOP, etc.) with a later forecast revision (FOP, etc.), match the issue code, and match NxtFYSt and NxtFYEn of the full-year record with CurFYSt and CurFYEn of the forecast revision record. Note that if the fiscal year end has changed, the period of the fiscal year also changes, so the records cannot be matched in this way.
Items that indicate whether something applies
- MatChgSub, SigChgInC, ChgByASRev, ChgNoASRev, ChgAcEst and RetroRst return the string "true" when the earnings report states "Yes" and the string "false" when it states "No". If the earnings report does not state it, the value is an empty string ("").
Result dividends per share
- The values stated in the earnings report are recorded as they are; we apply no retroactive adjustment for stock splits or reverse stock splits. If a stock split or reverse stock split takes place during the fiscal year or after the fiscal period end, how the dividend column of the earnings report is filled in depends on the disclosing company's judgment. Both cases exist — stating the amount as of the record date of the dividend as it is, and restating it in terms of the number of shares after the split or reverse split — so the values are not uniformly defined as either the value at the time of disclosure or the value as of the record date.
Synchronisation with the company disclosure index list
- The TDnet/Company Disclosure Index List (/td/list) and this API are not synchronised. Therefore, at the moment a new disclosure is detected in the index list, the financial data for that disclosure may not yet be retrievable. If it is not available, please wait a while and check again. The same disclosure is assigned the same disclosure number (DiscNo) in this API, the index list and TDnet/Company Disclosure Files (/td/files), so you can match them using DiscNo as the key.
Rate limits
- This API has its own individual rate limit. For best practices on efficient data retrieval, including bulk retrieval of historical data, see Rate Limits.
About addition of API item in response to the "Revision of the Quarterly Disclosure System"
- In response to the "Revision of the Quarterly Disclosure System", the items to be described in the Summary Form of Financial Statements will be changed as below.
  - before: "Changes in significant subsidiaries during the period (changes in specified subsidiaries resulting in the change in scope of consolidation)"
  - after: "Significant changes in the scope of consolidation during the period"
- In response to this change, "SigChgInC" is added to the response items of this API from Jul 22, 2024.

We do not provide the date and time when each data item became available on J-Quants. For update frequency and approximate update times, see Update Timing of Provided Data.

Data correction policy

This API provides the financial summary data disclosed by each company. We do not retroactively revise past data for stock splits or corrections; each record retains the values as of the time of disclosure.
A correcting disclosure is assigned a new disclosure number (DiscNo), and the existing record is not overwritten. The pre-correction record is also retained, so the disclosure number (DiscNo) and disclosure date (DiscDate) let you identify which disclosure a value is based on.
However, this API does not provide a field or flag indicating that a disclosure is a correction. To compare values before and after a correction, sort the records for the same issue and the same accounting period by disclosure date and time.

In this service, we may add or overwrite data due to data deficiencies or omissions. In such cases, the correction history is recorded on Data Correction History and Known issues, so please refer to it.
Note: In these cases, neither the correction history nor pre-correction data is provided via the API, CSV, or other means.

This API returns every field as a JSON string. Numeric fields such as amounts, share counts, and ratios are strings, not numbers (for example, "Sales": "100529000000").
Missing values and absent records
- Fields with no value are returned as an empty string (""), not null.
- If you need numeric values, check for empty strings and convert them on your side.
